Mahaparinirvana Temple
Mahaparinirvana Temple is a very special place in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. It is believed to be the place where Lord Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana, which means his final liberation from the cycle of life and death. Because of this, many Buddhist pilgrims from all over the world come here to pray and find peace.
Inside the temple, you will see a big reclining statue of Lord Buddha, which is 6.1 meters long. This statue shows Buddha lying down in his last moments. Made of a single piece of sandstone, it looks very calm and peaceful.
